The short version
FTTD started because every other events listing reads like a press release. He wanted the version a friend would text you: the show that's genuinely funny, the bar that isn't a line, the thing you'd regret missing. He still writes and edits every post that goes out under his name.
When he isn't arguing with a database about whether an event is boring, he's on stage. If you run a room or a venue and FTTD got something wrong, email him — he'd rather hear it from you than from a screenshot.
